The organization: The Military Health System (MHS)/Defense Heath Agency (DHA) is a global, comprehensive, integrated system that includes combat medical services, peacetime health care delivery, public health services, medical education and training, and medical research and development. The MHS currently includes 51 Inpatient Hospitals and Medical Centers, 424 Ambulatory Care and Occupational Health Clinics, and 248 Dental Clinics. The DHA supports the Combatant Commanders and Military Services to execute the Department of Defense (DoD) medical mission in peacetime and wartime. The DHA is responsible for the administrative functions of all Markets and Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) for budgeting, Information Technology (IT), administration and management, policies and procedures, and construction. In addition to these administrative functions the DHA is responsible for the coordination and delivery of healthcare throughout the MHS in support of DHA's Strategy Map DHA is active around the world, with military and civilian experts supporting military health operations at military hospitals and clinics, as well as dental and veterinary clinics.

Essential duties

You will work for DHA headquarters to present information from health systems to facilitate decision-making in a health care setting. Data analysis will use large, complex data sets to perform health systems, population health, and regulatory compliance analyses. For example, you will:

• Develop, analyze, update, retrieve, and revise information for use in orientations, briefings, and reports
• Provide standard office executive support functions to facilitate reoccurring reporting
• Conduct daily general admin duties including coordinating and scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and maintaining agenda
• Investigate problems, analyze alternatives, and establish a resolution plan
• Implement corrective actions when within capabilities, or seek assistance for recommended corrective action from leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Experience working within a health care treatment facility and/or system required
• Basic knowledge of the clinical practice of medicine and medical terminology
• Experience with CAC enabled web sites and MHS systems such as the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) and MHS Mart (M2) preferred
• Patient care provider / nurse preferred
• Experience within MHS and DHA preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, both on a one-to-one basis and to groups in briefing or instructional format

Four-Year+ Contract (Initial 6 months with 4-12 month options. Must live near or be willing to relocate to San Antonio.
