Description

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT(T) certification and 1+ year experience for a hospital Radiation Oncology department treating a high volume of diverse adult diagnoses.

Details

• Hospital-based Radiation Oncology department setting
• Adult acute care and outpatient treatment settings
• Department staffed by 2 Radiation Oncology physicians
• Averages 35 patients daily on treatment and approximately 10 CT simulations per week
• Treats all diagnoses except pediatrics
• Treatment types include 3D, SRS, SBRT, and IMRT
• Uses Varian 21iX, TomoTherapy, and Big Bore CT equipment
• Uses ARIA and TrueBeam systems
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• May be required to float to like units within scope based on facility needs

Requirements

• ARRT(T) certification required
• BLS certification required
• NM state license required (license required if applicable; pending NM/compact license accepted if obtained prior to start)
• Minimum of 1 year experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Experience with Eclipse (Varian) and Pinnacle (Philips) treatment planning systems preferred
• Experience with CBCT/kV/mV imaging, field shaping, and CT simulation preferred
• Experience treating conditions such as Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, leukemia, kidney, pancreatic, and testicular cancers preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include chart checks, pretreatment procedures, tumor localization, and beam modifying/positioning
• Brief orientation provided for any required floating assignments
• Open to first-time travelers
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Limited RTO auto-approval at time of submission, with no RTO during the first week of orientation
