Job Description

The Electrical Mechanic & Junior Mechanic coducts installation, wiring, and completion of electrical conduit and branch circuit systems across a variety of projects. This role focuses on bending and installing EMT and rigid conduit, building conduit rack systems, wiring lighting and control systems, and ensuring all work complies with NEC code. Perform the execution of electrical installations from rough-in through final finish, including fire alarm and panel wiring.

Responsibilities

• Bend EMT and conduit using hand benders, table benders, and other tools for 1/2 to 3/4 inch conduit, including 90-degree bends, offsets, and saddles.
• Build and install conduit rack systems and exposed conduit systems, ensuring clean, organized, and code-compliant installations.
• Pull wire through conduit systems and verify proper routing, labeling, and terminations.
• Perform wiring and rough-in of MC and BX cable for lighting, outlets, switches, and fire alarm systems.
• Install, wire, and complete branch circuits and electrical distribution systems from start to finish.
• Install and wire lighting control systems, including Lutron systems and other control technologies.
• Wire and terminate fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Carry out zone work for lighting, including panel wiring and landing conductors into main electrical panels.
• Perform electrical work across 120–480 volt systems, following safety protocols and NEC requirements.
• Lay out electrical work on site, determining conduit runs, panel locations, and device placement based on plans and field conditions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings accurately, and work independently from these documents.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues in conduit systems, lighting, controls, and panels to ensure proper operation.
• Ensure all installations comply with NEC code and project specifications.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work area, following all safety procedures and using appropriate PPE.
• Coordinate daily tasks, start times, and work sequencing to complete an 8-hour workday efficiently.
• Use personal hand tools, cordless drills, electrical testers, and laser levels to perform precise and high-quality work.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a electrician, capable of working independently and reading prints without supervision.
• Possession of a physical and active SST 10-hour card.
• Ownership and proficient use of personal PPE and hand tools, including hand tools, cordless drill, measuring tools, electrical testers, and laser level.

Work Environment

Work takes place across all five boroughs, and employees must be able to reach various job sites using public transportation and remain open to working in any of these locations. Start times typically vary between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., with an 8-hour workday that includes a half-hour unpaid lunch and a 15-minute coffee break. The environment is extremely safe and professional, with a strong emphasis on adherence to safety protocols and proper use of PPE. Electricians are expected to bring and use their own PPE and hand tools, including hand tools, cordless drills, measuring devices, electrical testers, and laser levels, and to work with EMT, rigid, and galvanized conduit and other standard electrical materials.

This is a Permanent position based out of New York, NY.

The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
