AMC | Certified Medical Assistant - OB/GYN

Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team supporting physicians and licensed medical staff in a busy outpatient OB/GYN clinic located in the Southeastern United States. This role involves both clinical and administrative duties to ensure smooth patient care and office operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with obtaining patient vital signs and update medical records accurately.
- Collect and process lab and pathology samples following established protocols.
- Perform quality and safety checks on testing equipment and supplies.
- Provide patient education under provider guidance.
- Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies as directed by licensed providers.
- Support providers during procedures and examinations.
- Prepare and handle reusable instruments for sterilization.
- Manage biohazard and pharmaceutical waste disposal according to OSHA standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment by adhering to infection prevention standards.
- Assist with front desk duties including greeting patients and scheduling appointments.
- Support billing and coding processes by assisting with ICD and CPT input.
- Coordinate with external healthcare partners to facilitate patient care plans.
- Monitor electronic communication systems and respond promptly.
- Perform components of well visits and scheduled nursing visits as directed.
- Complete all required documentation prior to provider visits.
- Perform high-level disinfection tasks as needed.
- Flexibility to float to other clinics as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with national certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA) is mandatory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Preferred: Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in an outpatient setting.
- Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations promptly.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.
- Physical capability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Comfortable handling potentially infectious materials with appropriate precautions.
