JSK Journalism Fellowship at Stanford University 2026-27 The JS Journalism Fellowship is a nine-month residential program at Stanford University created for journalists worldwide who want dedicated time away from daily deadlines to rethink journalism, explore innovation, and build leadership resilience. Each year up to 20 fellows are selected to join a collaborative cohort that works on reimagining journalism’s future — media sustainability, innovation, community-centered news, press freedom and other pressing issues. Who Can Apply? Eligibility & Requirements To apply for the JSK Fellowship, applicants must meet these conditions: At least 5 years of professional journalism experience (internships or student experience do not count). Experience can come from roles such as reporting, editing, producing, independent journalism, or media entrepreneurship. The fellowship is not open to individuals working in PR, corporate communications, government information offices, in-house publications, or full-time academia. A college degree is not required — demonstrated journalistic excellence and commitment are what matter most. What the Fellowship Offers JSK Fellows receive an extensive support package, including: A generous stipend for the full 9-month residency (recent cycles listed around USD 130,000).
