Job Summary

Seeking a hands-on Automation Technician with experience in injection molding automation, industrial robotics, and equipment troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have practical experience programming and maintaining molding robots, troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs, and supporting high-volume manufacturing operations. This role requires strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to minimize equipment downtime while improving production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with injection molding automation systems, including robots, conveyors, sensors, and vision systems.
\n
• Program and optimize industrial robots, including Sepro, Fanuc, Yushin, and Wittmann, for part handling, degating, and packaging.
\n
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and sensor-related issues.
\n
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment, including sensor calibration and component replacement.
\n
• Support mold trials, new product launches, and automation setup activities.
\n
• Optimize robot paths, sequences, and cycle times to improve production efficiency and part quality.
\n
• Maintain robot program backups, maintenance records, and equipment documentation.
\n
• Support EOAT (End-of-Arm Tooling) maintenance and participate in Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives.
\n
• Follow applicable safety procedures and quality standards, including ISO, FDA, and GMP requirements where relevant.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• B.E. degree required; a technical background in Mechatronics, Robotics, or Industrial Automation is preferred.
\n
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in injection molding automation or a related manufacturing environment.
\n
• Strong experience in robot programming, troubleshooting, and automation equipment maintenance.
\n
• Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial sensors, conveyors, and vision systems.
\n
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
\n
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.
\n
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n
• Experience with Sepro, Fanuc, Yushin, or Wittmann robots.
\n
• Knowledge of EOAT, pneumatic systems, robotics integration, and vision inspection systems.
\n
• Experience supporting mold trials, new product introductions, and cycle-time optimization.
\n
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and high-volume production environments.
\n
• Experience in medical device, automotive, electronics, or plastics manufacturing.
\n
