Position located in Iuka, MS. Key responsibilities:Performs root cause analysis of material failures, provides effective solutions to production composite issuesGenerates test plans & reportsAnalyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystemsApplies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop non-metallic processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processesDevelops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specificationsMaterial analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specificationsMay review and approve subcontractor material processing proceduresMay travel to subcontractor locationsBasic Qualifications: (This requisition may be filled at either level based on qualifications below)M&P Engineer (level 2) requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience to include a background in composite materials for airframe structuresPrincipal M&P Engineer (level 3) requires a minimum of a BS in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience to include a background in composite materials OR a Master of Science (MS) degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience to include a background in composite materials for airframe structuresExperience with composite fabrication and design on aircraftExperience with repair processes composite materials used in aerospace structuresMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance prior to startMust have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) ClearanceAbility to perform this role 2nd shift.Preferred Qualifications:Degree discipline in Materials Science or similarExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate in a team environmentAbility to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneouslyAbility to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutionsExperience with military specs and standardsExperience interfacing with a military customerPrimary Level Salary Range: $75,100.00 - $112,700.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $93,300.00 - $139,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
