What You Will Be Responsible For

• Conducting thorough patient evaluations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and creating tailored care plans
• Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic health issues in conjunction with physicians or independently based on your credentialing
• Educating patients and their families about health maintenance, prevention, and chronic disease management
• Prescribing medications and initiating therapies as permitted by your scope of practice
• Engaging in patient follow-up and chronic illness management
• Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure a comprehensive, patient-centered approach
• Maintaining precise and detailed documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)

Education and Certification Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Successful completion of a certified Nurse Practitioner program

Necessary Licensure

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in Alaska
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or a similar professional designation
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to acquire within 90 days)
