Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly. Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane. Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy. Adhere to company's cash handling limits, work honestly, and control loss. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs). Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator. Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons. Stay updated on current and upcoming sales and promotions. Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report to management. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed. Create a welcoming environment, assisting customers with product questions. Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines. Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively. Handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity. Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
