Art Manufacturing and Mechanical Production Technician

Job Title: Art Manufacturing and Mechanical Production Technician At Framebridge we are redefining the custom framing market by turning a tedious experience into a pleasurable one. The Art Mechanical Technician will support our art cell teams by supplying framing materials, ensuring orders are fulfilled on time and to perfection. You will help create and assemble customer orders from our retail stores and online business, including art, clothing, tapestries, or photos. What You’ll Do Efficiently operate CNC routers to precisely cut picture frame products from acrylic and mat board while optimizing material utilization. Utilize nesting software to arrange cutting patterns effectively and maximize material usage, supporting lean manufacturing practices. Operate a double miter saw with safety and accuracy to cut moulding to exact measurements for picture frame production. Apply stain and wood glue meticulously before underpinning frames using a pneumatic underpinner. Collaborate closely with neighboring teams within the art cell environment, receiving live orders and prioritizing production tasks to meet customer demands. Conduct final visual quality inspections on frames to ensure exceptional craftsmanship and adherence to customer specifications. Assist the shipping department occasionally to package and ship finished products, supporting production and maintaining workflow efficiency. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of materials, tools, and finished products, to uphold safety and productivity standards. Required Experience Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work that surpasses customer expectations. Proficiency and confidence in working with one’s hands, especially on delicate pieces. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Excellent communication skills. Ability to manage time efficiently and adapt to changing production demands to ensure timely order fulfillment. Comfortable in a fast-paced production environment, with demonstrated ability to collaborate with a team and respond to the needs of the business. Prior woodworking experience is preferred but not required. Familiarity with operating CNC routers, double miter saws, or similar machinery is preferred. Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance on production equipment is preferred. Experience working with computers and proficiency in basic computer skills is preferred. Familiarity with picture framing or related industries is preferred. Physical Requirements Perform standing/walking 8+ hours a day. Lifting 10–40 pounds. Salary Information The base range is $19/hr – $23/hr, plus potential performance bonuses. Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location.
