Job PostingStore/Tienda #14 - Miami (1263 West Flagler Street, Miami 33135) - Shift/Turno: Part-Time/Medio Tiempo - (Afternoon/Por la Tarde) The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the goals, values and operating principles of Sedano's Supermarkets, and in conformity with all laws and regulations governing the company. Every employee is to follow the policies and procedures of his/her department as well as those of the company to ensure smooth operations. Every employee, regardless of job title, is responsible for ensuring a safe environment throughout the store. This includes, but is not limited to immediately securing an area when a hazardous situation occurs, promptly informing the store manager of the situation, and/or promptly taking action to remove the hazardous condition. Every employee must also maintain a friendly attitude, wear the proper uniform or dress code, keep the store stocked and organized, and provide excellent customer service on a regular basis.The Stock Clerk loads the displays and shelves with groceries and merchandise for sale to the customers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Retrieve, load and unload products and merchandise onto cart to move from back room to store displays and/or shelvingProperly operate department equipment and toolsAssist with the unloading of delivery trucksKeep work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazardsPolitely greet customers with a smile and provide excellent customer service; attend to customers' needs when looking for store merchandise; calling for manager or supervisor when necessaryPromptly report maintenance and safety issues, especially with floor conditions to manager on dutyReport all accidents promptly to manager on dutySupport other departments when needed in a courteous mannerPerforms other work-related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the positionMaintain punctuality and good attendance in compliance with company policiesSecondary Duties and Responsibilities:Retrieve shopping carts from parking lotAssist with bagging when needed; place items in bags for customers; assist with loading into shopping cart when necessaryAssist cashiers with price checks on any store merchandiseMay perform general cleaning duties such as mopping and sweepingCompetencies, Skills and/or Qualifications:Ability to read and speak English and Spanish preferredAbility to understand and follow instructions in both English and Spanish preferredAbility to use department equipment properly to accomplish essential duties of the positionAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one situations with directors, managers, customers (both internal and external) and the general publicGood interpersonal skillsTakes responsibility for own actionsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram formBasic math, numeral recognitionDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughnessAbility to work hours and days scheduled, including holidays and weekendsPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:Stand and walkUse arms, hands and fingersReach with hands and armsUse of hands and arms for repetitive motionCarry, lift and/or move merchandisePush and pull cart of merchandiseTwist back and neckTalk and hearAbility to see including close vision and peripheral visionThe employee is frequently required to:Stoop or bend at the waistCrouch or bend at the kneesUse sense of smellThe employee is occasionally required to:SitClimb ladder or stepstoolBalanceKneelThe individual performs duties in a grocery store environment.
