Occupational Therapist (OT) - Ortho/Sports Med

Responsible for planning and administering occupational therapy treatment plans designed to alleviate pain, restore function, prevent disabilities, and promote overall fitness and health of patients. Serves as a role model in delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students. Qualifications Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA) Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy (required) Relevant work experience Responsibilities Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair and floor, if applicable. Uses safe and appropriate body mechanics to reduce injury risk to self, staff, and patients. Treats patients with dignity and respect; demonstrates empathy and caring. Designs an appropriate plan of care integrating goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plan. Adjusts care based on patient response and evidence. Assesses for, creates, modifies, and fits custom splints/orthotics. Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using effective teaching methods. Evaluates clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and plan of care. Performs examinations using reliable and valid methods relevant to chief complaint, screening, and history. Screens patients to determine effectiveness and need for therapy services under legal and ethical guidelines. Monitors care delivered by support personnel and provides regular feedback. Communicates with medical team. Performs documentation per department and practice standards. Meets customer service and productivity standards. Serves as clinical instructor when assigned. Actively participates in team, program, department assignments and meetings. Performs reporting and other duties as assigned. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $34.66 per hour - $59.62 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
