Responsibilities Prepare and cook food for banquets, meetings, weddings, and other catered events according to established recipes and hotel standards. Assist with banquet food preparation, including appetizers, entrées, sides, sauces, and other menu items. Ensure food is prepared, portioned, presented, and held at the proper temperature and in accordance with quality standards. Work closely with the Banquet and Culinary Teams to ensure food is ready for service according to event timelines. Maintain consistency in flavor, presentation, portion sizes, and overall quality. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift. Properly store, label, and rotate food products according to established standards. Assist with inventory, prep lists, and minimizing food waste. Communicate effectively with the culinary team regarding food preparation, timing, and special requests. Support other kitchen and banquet operations as needed. Contribute to a positive, respectful, and TEAM-oriented kitchen environment. Requirements to Be Successful in This Role Previous experience in a hotel, banquet, restaurant, or high-volume kitchen is preferred. Previous experience with a Hilton brand or luxury hotel environment is ideal, but we are willing to train food service professionals who are motivated to grow their hospitality careers. Strong culinary skills and a genuine passion for food. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen. Strong attention to detail and commitment to culinary excellence. Ability to follow recipes, preparation guidelines, and food safety standards. Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and temperature control. Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse culinary TEAM. Strong communication and organizational skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on banquet and event needs. Culinary degree or formal culinary training is a plus, but not required. A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
