Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care within the last 3 years License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and progressive care experience - Vent and transplant experience Description: The traveler will work in both the IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and the IMC Thoracic unit. This position involves evening and night shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Workdays will be Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and some holidays required. Candidates must possess telemetry oncology, cardiac, and progressive care unit experience. Vent and transplant experience is essential. A RN license is required. BLS and ACLS certifications must be from AHA only. The traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test before being cleared to start. Nurses on this unit provide comprehensive nursing care for acutely ill adult patients. Patient diagnoses include multiple comorbidities and hemodynamic instability. The unit cares for patients with cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant. The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to acutely ill surgical and trauma patients. The role involves critical thinking and teamwork as part of a multidisciplinary team. Nurses are expected to advocate for quality patient care. The unit has a staffing ratio of 1:4 for general care and 1:2 for IMC. Special procedures and critical care skills are required, including access and management of various lines. Float requirements are part of the position. Locals are not accepted for this role. References must be removed from submission. The ideal candidate must be proficient in a level I or II trauma center environment. Candidates will undergo a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria. Failure to pass the exam will result in the cancellation of the assignment.
