Field Service Technician, Mechanical, Gravure - Coating Laminating

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician (FST), Mechanical, for the Gravure, Coating and Laminating product line. The FST provides timely and efficient machine repairs and installations primarily for customers and serves as the front‑line representative for the BOBST product range. Key Responsibilities 90% travel required across the US and Canada; candidate located within 1 hour of a major international airport is preferred. Provide machine service (electrical & mechanical), including repair, installation of new machines, relocation of existing equipment, customer training and preventative maintenance. Order parts needed for installations and repairs, troubleshoot problems, and proactively recommend service and maintenance programs. Act as the trusted advisor, confirming, clarifying, and meeting customer expectations at every stage of service and projects. Education & Requirements Technical school or college related to mechanical engineering. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the packaging or finishing converting industry. Background in mechanical engineering and strong understanding of variable frequency drives, motors, basic AC/DC. Experience diagnosing faults and making recommendations in a customer environment. Ability to multi‑task in a dynamic environment. Fluency with metric system. Compensation & Benefits Estimated base salary ranging between $80,000 and $87,000 annually. Overtime pay.
