Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Department: Medical Advance Care

Shift: Full Time 7p - 7:30a / 48 Hours per Pay

Location: Miami Valley Hospital

The Pulmonary unit at Miami Valley Hospital is a 38 bed advanced care floor in a level 1 trauma center hiring for both new grads and expereinced RNs!

Patient population with which you will work:

• COPD
• Pneumonia
• Pulmonary Embolism
• Pulmonary Edema
• Influenza
• Diabetic ketoacidosis

Equipment on the unit you will learn:

• Telemetry
• Tracheotomy
• Chest tubes
• High flow Oxygen
• Chronic Ventilators
• BIPAP
• Drips

The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who partners with and advocates for patients/families/significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The RN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The RN utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service. The RN serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader and sentry. The RN collaborates with and guides care delivered by the inter-professional team. The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree in Nursing

Preferred educational qualifications : BSN Preferred; BSN Completion or Professional Certification may be required. RNs with a minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience may elect to forgo the BSN requirement and sign a Professional Certification MOU which must be obtained with 3 years of hire.


Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Valid Ohio RN license
• Current CPR certification required at the time of hire
