About the Role
The Company is in search of an Interim Managing Director to provide strategic and operational leadership during a transitional period. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and overseeing financial operations, strengthening digital security protocols, and partnering with the leadership team to develop fundraising strategies. This role requires a hands-on approach to create and unify finance systems, ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, and monitor budget performance. The Interim Managing Director will also lead day-to-day operations, maintain clear governance documentation, and support the leadership team in decision-making and goal alignment. Applicants for the Interim Managing Director position at the company should be experienced in financial management, have a strong understanding of nonprofit organizational structures, and be familiar with the California labor movement. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, solutions-oriented leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships and coordinating across diverse stakeholders. A background in coalition-based work and a commitment to the values of racial, economic, and gender justice are essential. The role demands a strategic, systems-oriented leader who can thrive in a complex, fast-moving environment and is adept at translating strategy into effective action. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
