Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while actively promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming an individualized care plan.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and maintain accurate documentation of assessments and interventions.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program while employing the nursing process to prioritize education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and staff support within a team environment.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, equipment, and clinical training.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and prioritize activities effectively.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift for specific facilities.
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This is a night shift position with a 3x12.0 hour schedule.
