Operations Lead

Responsibilities Sabre Systems, LLC is seeking a highly organized and proactive Operations Lead to provide operational support to the NAVAIR Digital Department at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. This individual will work directly with Digital Department leadership to establish and sustain day-to-day operations, communications, and project/portfolio management practices that keep the Department aligned, informed, and executing against leadership priorities. This is a mission-driven role in a fast-paced Navy environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate Microsoft Power BI capability, proven project and portfolio management experience supporting an IT services group, and the judgment to operate with discretion and confidentiality. Candidates local to Patuxent River, Maryland, and those with prior Navy or NAVAIR support experience are strongly preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Leadership & Coordination Support the coordination and execution of day-to-day operations activities supporting the Director, Department, senior leadership, and aligned organizational priorities. Establish priorities, deconflict competing requirements, and synchronize activities across staff, functional areas, and external stakeholders. Serve as the escalation point for complex operational issues before matters are elevated to senior leadership. Project & Portfolio Management — IT Services Group Lead project and portfolio management activities for the Department’s IT services group, including intake, prioritization, resource visibility, milestone tracking, risk/issue management, and delivery status. Support the development and execution of the Department’s strategic priorities, coordinating across teams so leadership direction is translated into actionable plans, milestones, operating rhythms, and measurable outcomes. Establish governance cadences and status reviews that keep leadership informed of portfolio health, dependencies, and delivery risk. Coordinate senior-level meetings, executive engagements, workshops, off-sites, and organizational events from planning through execution. Maintain visibility of leadership commitments, action items, suspense dates, and organizational taskers, and ensure timely follow-through. Microsoft Power BI, Dashboards & Operational Reporting Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Power BI dashboards and reports that provide leadership with timely, decision-quality visibility into operations, portfolio status, workload, and performance metrics. Establish and maintain operational trackers, calendars, and reporting mechanisms; partner with stakeholders to define metrics, data sources, and visualization standards. Apply data-engineering and analytics practices to dashboard datasets and reports, including data modeling, dataset preparation, quality checks, and version/change-control of source files and published products. Use Power Platform tools (Power Automate and related workflow automation) to streamline recurring operational processes and reduce manual reporting burden. Communications, Records, Content & Resource Support Maintain the Department’s network of internal and external partners, including communications and management of released guidance, status, and collaboration opportunities. Establish and maintain standards for site organization, content management, document repositories, permissions, navigation, and information architecture. Establish and maintain visibility of material procurement actions from requirement identification through completion in support of the Department’s roadmap; ensure procurement documentation and records are organized, complete, and maintained. Establish and oversee organizational practices for managing digital and physical records, correspondence, briefing materials, program documentation, and institutional knowledge. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Ten (10) or more years of experience in operations, executive support, program/project management, or IT services operations. Demonstrated Microsoft Power BI experience, including dashboard development, data modeling, and operational reporting for leadership audiences. Experience in project and/or portfolio management supporting an IT services group, including intake, prioritization, status reporting, and delivery tracking. Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 suite, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Proficiency with Power Platform tools, including Power Automate and/or other workflow automation and data-visualization tools. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced professional environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated discretion and confidentiality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Local to Patuxent River, Maryland (strongly preferred). Active Secret security clearance, or current eligibility and willingness to obtain a Secret clearance. Prior Navy, NAVAIR, or broader DoD program support experience (five or more years preferred). Background in Data Engineering and Analytics, including data modeling, dataset preparation and pipeline/workflow design, operational metrics development, data-quality practices, and proficiency in data management and version/change-control processes. Experience with SharePoint Online administration and Communication Sites. Experience with procurement, contracting, or resource management. Familiarity with DoD policies, procedures, and operating environments. Project/portfolio management credential (e.g., PMP, CAPM, or equivalent) and/or experience supporting IT service-delivery frameworks. Compensation Statement At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms.
