Field Service Machinist — Rotating Machinery Rebuilds

Is your happy place a well-set manual lathe, a perfectly squared mill, and a blueprint you can sink your teeth into? Do you enjoy diagnosing issues in the field and bringing rotating equipment back to life? If so, read on.

What you’ll do

• Repair, troubleshoot, and rebuild rotating equipment and related machinery in the shop and in the field.
• Set up and operate manual equipment: engine lathes, turret lathes, milling machines, boring bars, and boring mills.
• Execute accurate machine setups for production runs and complete high-quality manual machining.
• Use precision measuring tools and hand metrology to confirm tolerances and geometry.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan and verify work.
• Apply assembly skills to fit, align, and finalize components.
• Leverage knowledge of CNC operation; programming ability is a plus.
• Assist with CNC machine repair and maintenance as needed.

What you bring

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of manufacturing/industrial experience or equivalent education.
• Proficiency with cutting tools and measuring devices.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
• Reliability: punctual, consistent attendance, and self-directed work ethic.
• Safety mindset: follow all procedures and guidelines and wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, metatarsal boots, and respirator when required).

Assessments to join

• Pass a written MTM test.
• Pass a hands-on Manual Machinist Assessment.

Schedule & environment

• Rotating 8-hour shifts, which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
• Overtime as needed to meet operational demands.

Bonus points

• Understanding of G & M codes.
• Familiarity with Okuma and Mazak CNC controls.
• Experience with Mazak, Okuma, or Toyoda CNC mills or lathes.
• Journeyman Machinist card.
