Pediatric Psychologist

Position Summary Department of Psychiatry at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago are seeking a full‑time non‑tenure‑eligible Clinician‑Educator at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor. The position is intended for a pediatric psychologist who will join a multidisciplinary child and adolescent psychiatry department at Lurie Children’s Hospital, a nationally ranked freestanding children’s hospital located on the medical school campus. Location Chicago, Illinois Responsibilities Providing psychological evaluations for children and adolescents admitted for medical and surgical problems within the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. Consulting medical teams about treating such problems and offering support related to managing difficult conversations with families. Participating in multi‑disciplinary rounds. Supervising trainees from psychology and psychiatry. Engaging in scholarly activities and helping to launch multidisciplinary research initiatives. Balancing clinical work (approximately 80%) with research (20%), negotiable based on grant activity and funding. Qualifications PhD or PsyD in a psychology training program and completion of an APA‑approved internship specializing in clinical child or pediatric psychology (at least one program must be APA‑approved). Preferred fellowship‑level training in pediatric psychology which includes evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with complex medical needs. Preferred training related to transplant care. Compensation & Expectations This is a full‑time position. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Expected base pay range: $127,500–$170,422. Start date is immediate after licensure in Illinois. Applications will be evaluated as received and the position remains open until filled.
