Apprentice Electrician

Apprentice Electrician – Boulder County Public Works Department. Salary: $60,840 - $87,516 annually. Location: 2525 13th St., Boulder, Colorado. Full‑time position, Monday through Friday, 6:00 am–2:30 pm. Responsibilities Performs routine electrical work on construction and remodel projects such as installing conduit, electrical boxes, motors, receptacles, switches, light fixtures, and pulling cables. Assists in installation and maintenance of electrical systems such as security and fire alarm systems, energy management systems, card access systems, and computer and telephone systems. Performs electrical demolition work, including removing old wire and electrical equipment. Responds to work orders for electrical repairs and installations. May schedule work and estimate time and materials. Operates and maintains a variety of hand tools, power tools and equipment. Maintains work records and material receipts. Performs related work as required. May be reassigned in emergency situations. Required Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years of electrical experience. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Additional education may count toward required experience. Background & Physical Requirements Background investigation and fingerprinting required. Candidates must successfully complete a pre‑employment physical. Physical requirements include lifting 1–30 lbs. continuously, frequently lifting 30–80 lbs., occasional push/pull of 100 lb. force, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
