Registered Nurse PRN

ER PRN RN – Emergency Department Registered Nurse We are seeking an Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver immediate, comprehensive care to patients in acute medical conditions or emergencies. Responsibilities Patient Assessment – Conduct thorough head‑to‑toe assessments and psychosocial evaluations upon arrival, determining severity of conditions. Triage – Assign triage categories to ensure timely care based on urgency. Emergency Care – Provide care to patients of all ages (neonates, children, adults, geriatrics) following established protocols and guidelines. Medication Administration – Administer medications accurately, adhering to the five rights (right patient, right medication, right dose, right route, right time). Supervision – Oversee the work of support staff such as Emergency Room Technicians (ERTs) and other personnel. Patient Advocacy – Communicate effectively with patients and families, explaining procedures and treatment plans to provide emotional support and education. Collaboration – Work closely with physicians and other healthcare staff to develop and implement patient care plans. Infection Control – Maintain a clean and sanitary environment to prevent infection and promote safety. Continuous Education – Participate in ongoing training, professional development activities, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives. Position Requirements Minimum two years of emergency room experience. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current licensure with the State Board of Nurse Examiners for their state. Current BCLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC preferred. Educational requirements adequate for meeting the age‑specific needs of patients in the emergency center (neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, geriatric). Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English fluently. Validate clinical skills as outlined in the orientation checklist and maintain annual competency. Working Conditions Physical Demands – Lift and move up to 50 lbs, frequent standing, walking for up to 8 hours, frequent bending and twisting, good body mechanics. Adverse/Hazardous Conditions – Potential injuries from physical effort, chemical irritants, and exposure to body fluids and infectious diseases.
