Cnc Laser Operator
We are currently hiring an experienced CNC Laser Operator for a metal manufacturing and fabrication facility in Fairfield, OH. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser machines to support high-quality and efficient production in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment while following all safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC laser machines
- Locate and load the correct laser programs into the machine
- Load and unload sheet metal and finished parts using proper material handling equipment
- Verify machine settings and monitor equipment throughout production
- Troubleshoot machine and processing issues as needed
- Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and quality using precision measuring tools
- Perform grinding, dressing, deburring, and other secondary operations as required
- Perform routine machine maintenance and assist with preventative maintenance
- Identify and report machine, material, or quality issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures
- Participate in cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 1+ years of CNC laser or CNC equipment operating experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience working with sheet metal and metal fabrication preferred
- Basic math skills
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measuring tools
- Familiarity with CNC laser machine setup, operation, and basic maintenance
- Ability to troubleshoot machine and production issues
- Must be able to become certified to operate powered industrial equipment
- Basic computer skills for loading programs and entering production or quality information
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
