Role Overview

Valvetronic Designs is seeking a skilled and motivated Shop Installation Technician with hands-on fabrication and installation experience. This role is ideal for an automotive enthusiast with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys installing aftermarket components and contributing to high-quality product development. An exceptional candidate will be able to fabricate and TIG weld exhaust. The technician will play a key role in ensuring product quality, supporting instructional content creation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Product Development Team, the Shop Installation Technician is responsible for

• Successful execution of installing products, on various types of automobiles, for development.
• Maximize production through physical installation, fabrication, research, 3D scanning, and organization/cleanliness in our production areas.
• Assist QC in trouble shooting problems and assist in finding solutions.
• Self-motivated and able to consistently complete tasks at hand.
• Responsible for ensuring the products are properly installed in all vehicles, consistent with Valvetronic Designs standards
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic to advanced installations on a wide range of vehicles, including European and domestics.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills – you know your stuff and can engage with colleagues and customers in a positive, productive way.
• Proficient use of shop equipment and tools, including lifts, hand and power tools, welders, pipe cutters, scan tools, and inspection equipment.
• Ability to weld, fabricate, complete machine work, problem solving for exhaust components.
• Ability to assist in translating complex technical procedures into clear, user-friendly instructional steps
• Exhibits strong project organization and preparation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
• Excellent analytical, mechanical, attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time-management skills with the ability to estimate timelines and meet deadlines
• Maintains a clean working environment and treats each part, tool or vehicle with appropriate levels of care.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive industry with demonstrated capability installing aftermarket parts and accessories, particularly exhaust systems.
• Experience: 2+ years of TIG welding experience, preferably working with stainless steel and thin wall materials.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ASE certification, OEM training, or accredited vocational certification preferred .
