Grace Bible Church of Boise Job Description: Pastor (Worship) Position Type: Full-Time, Salaried Reports To: Senior Pastor About Grace Bible Church GBC is a nondenominational elder‑led church in beautiful Boise, Idaho. Our congregation consists of approximately 250 people representing a broad demographic. We are known for and committed to expository preaching and strong emphasis on living as a biblical family, as we strive to fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, locally and globally. Vision for Worship We endeavor to align our worship philosophy and implementation with biblical principles in seeking to worship God in spirit and truth. Our desire is that our worship time each Sunday blends hymns and current songs. We want to take into consideration the different demographics within our church body by creating an atmosphere of heartfelt worship for our Savior, conducive to a broad range of believers. We desire our worship to fit within the overall vision and purpose of our church, which focuses on becoming a biblical family, through discipleship as we experience and express together the love of God. Position Overview We are seeking a full‑time worship pastor who will join us in our mission as we endeavor to fulfill the biblical vision God has for us at Grace Bible Church within our own church family, community and globally. The Worship Pastor will lead and oversee the worship ministry of Grace Bible Church of Boise, creating Christ‑centered, biblically rooted, musically excellent worship experiences. This role includes planning and leading Sunday worship services, developing worship teams, coordinating special music ministries, and managing audio/visual elements that support congregational worship. As part of the Pastoral Team of GBC this position also includes guiding, maintaining and implementing the vision and philosophy of Grace Bible Church, in coordination and cooperation with the Pastoral Staff. As a Pastoral staff we want to work as a team and not be siloed in our specific ministries but collaborate and cooperate on what is needed for GBC together. This would include but is not limited to performing general pastoral ministries of the church such as pastoral care, teaching, counseling, visitations, etc. The worship pastor works directly under the direction and supervision of the senior pastor and is responsible to the elder board. Primary Responsibilities Sunday Worship Leadership Plan and lead weekly worship services with spiritual maturity and musical excellence Select songs that align with the theological focus of each service Coordinate rehearsals, prepare arrangements, and ensure smooth service flow. Worship Team Oversight and Development Recruit, train, and shepherd worship team members (musicians and vocalists). Schedule worship team using planning tools or scheduling software. Provide ongoing musical and spiritual development for team members. Special Music & Choirs Plan and coordinate special music performances (solos, ensembles, seasonal pieces). Oversee Children’s Choir rehearsals, music selection, and performance scheduling. Lead or coordinate Adult Choir for holiday services and special events. Audio/Visual & Technical Coordination Oversee the sound board team; ensure high‑quality audio during services and events. Schedule sound technicians and presentation team (slides, lyrics, video cues). Collaborate with volunteers to maintain and improve audio and visual equipment. Administrative & Pastoral Duties Participate in staff meetings or planning meetings with office and Pastoral staff when needed. Plan out weekly service in coordination with the Senior Pastor. Collaborate with pastoral staff to maintain theological consistency and alignment with the church’s mission. Provide spiritual shepherding to team members, promoting unity and discipleship. Assist with other ministry responsibilities as needed. Set and monitor a yearly budget that reflects the values, purpose and vision of the ministry. Qualifications: This position is for a man, married or single. Spiritual Qualifications A strong consistent walk with God through a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ clearly exhibited in the Pastor’s life. A mature follower of Jesus Christ with a lifestyle consistent with biblical leadership. Meets the Titus 1 and 1 Timothy 3 qualifications of church leaders. A pastoral heart and love for people. Able to teach with a love for God’s word. Teachable, team player with a desire to grow in faith and abilities. Humble, teachable spirit that seeks input and discipleship from others and has a heart for discipleship. A reliable, diligent servant that seeks to be patient, approachable and aware of others. Demonstrated calling and passion to pastoral and worship ministry. Agreement and willing adherence to Grace Bible Church’s vision, philosophy, statement of faith, mission, and doctrinal commitments. Have an awareness of receiving a call from the Lord to ministry, having had that call confirmed by others in the body of Christ. Professional & Musical Qualifications At least a two‑year degree in Bible and a good working knowledge of scripture. At least three years’ experience leading worship in some capacity. Experience leading worship in a church setting. Gifted and proficient in leading worship with confidence, in speaking and praying. Strong vocal and instrumental proficiency with the ability to lead and engage the congregation in worship that glorifies God. A good working knowledge of music, with the ability to read music. Is proficient in piano or guitar. Able to utilize a mixture of traditional and contemporary songs and hymns. Team‑oriented with strong communication and organizational skills. Able to provide leadership, vision, and passion in music worship ministries that is in line with the overall vision, purpose, and mission of the church. Able to develop and integrate various worship team members, coming from varying musical backgrounds and talents. Ability to teach, arrange, and direct choral and instrumental groups. Familiarity with sound systems, live audio, streaming, mixing, and worship presentation software. Knowledge of livestreaming, sound equipment and mixing sound is a plus. Knowledge of Planning Center and ProPresenter is a plus. Compensation Competitive Salary (based on experience and qualifications) Optional housing allowance designation.
