Overview

A growing construction organization is seeking an experienced Industrial/Civil Superintendent to oversee field operations on complex industrial and civil concrete projects. This role is critical to ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at coordinating field activities, and is committed to delivering successful project outcomes through strong planning, communication, and team leadership.

The Role

The Industrial/Civil Superintendent will be responsible for managing daily field operations, coordinating labor and equipment resources, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This individual will serve as the primary field leader, working closely with project management teams, subcontractors, engineers, and clients to drive project success. Success in this role means delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within quality expectations while fostering a productive and accountable jobsite culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily field operations for industrial and civil concrete construction projects.
• Coordinate all phases of concrete work, including earthwork, formwork, rebar installation, embeds, concrete placement, and finishing.
• Maintain and enforce jobsite safety standards, conducting safety meetings, reviewing JSAs, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Develop, manage, and update 6-week look-ahead schedules to effectively coordinate labor, equipment, and concrete pours.
• Utilize Procore for daily reporting, documentation management, RFIs, drawing reviews, and workforce tracking.
• Collaborate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
• Provide hands-on field leadership, supporting crews during critical activities, shutdowns, and major concrete placements.
• Mentor field personnel, develop team capabilities, and hold crews accountable for performance, safety, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in industrial construction, civil construction, or concrete construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of concrete construction operations, including earthwork, formwork, reinforcing steel, embeds, concrete placement, and finishing.
• Demonstrated experience leading and enforcing industrial jobsite safety programs.
• Proficiency with Procore for project documentation, reporting, scheduling, and field management.
• Experience managing labor, equipment, and production schedules in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with project stakeholders, including owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Proven leadership ability with a hands-on approach to field supervision and problem-solving.
• Ability to mentor crews, drive accountability, and maintain productivity under demanding project conditions.

Required Certifications:

• OSHA 30 Certification
• First Aid/CPR Certification

Location

East Alton, Illinois, with on-site presence required at active industrial and civil construction sites. Open to Relocating Candidates.
