The Bartending Staff is responsible for greeting customers, learning about their preferences, answering questions, recommending menu items, and preparing and serving beverages and food. This is a seasonal, full-time or part-time position and reports to the Food Service Manager.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAccurately complete cash, credit card and gift card transactions using point of sale systemUpsell to guests by suggesting menu items to accompany beverage selectionsPrepare beverages consistent with quality and food safety standardsMaintain sanitation of the preparation and service areasStock condiments, napkins, straws, etc. for guest useClean tables and chairs, sweep/mop floors and empty trash in the bar/dining areaCheck customer's identification to ensure they are of legal drinking ageMix all drinks based on the standard serving sizes, keeping drink costs at a minimumTransfer products between locationsReceive and inventory shipments from vendorsAssist with monthly inventory and orderingParticipate in other projects and activities as assignedCollaborate with management on specialsEDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE1+ year experience bartendingTIPS training requiredState required certificationQUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTSBasic computer skillsPositive, engaging personality, strong work ethic and professional appearanceStrong organizational, motivational, and leadership skillsExcellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail, speed, and accuracyAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentRequired to work nights, weekends, and holidaysWork with minimal supervisionMaintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, coworkers, and managementESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDSAble to lift up to 50 lbsMust be able to remain in a stationary position, occasionally in warm temperaturesContinuously climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawlAble to manipulate fingers, hands, and arms to reach, carry, serve, etc.Northgate provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
