MZ Dentistry is hiring a full-time Dental Assistant to provide chairside support, maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment, and deliver excellent patient experiences. This role combines clinical assisting, imaging, infection control, and patient education in a fast-paced family dental practice.

Requirements

• Experienced Dental Assistant (1+ years)
• General Dentistry
• Infection Control License

Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience in a clinical setting.
Working knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and common dental procedures (general dentistry focus).
Competence in four‑handed dentistry and chairside assisting.
Demonstrated infection control and sterilization practice knowledge.
Experience maintaining patient records and protecting patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
Ability to take dental radiographs; possession of required X‑ray certification or license if mandated by Illinois law.
Strong verbal communication and patient‑care skills; comfortable working with patients of varied ages.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work the posted schedule.

Job Description

Assist dentists during exams and procedures using four‑handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms; sterilize instruments and replenish supplies.
Take, process and maintain dental radiographs and other clinical images in compliance with safety and HIPAA standards.
Maintain accurate patient records and charts in the electronic dental record (experience with Dentrix is a plus).
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post‑treatment care, and preventive practices.
Support patient flow by coordinating with reception and scheduling teams.
Adhere to aseptic technique and infection prevention protocols, including sterilization and disinfection procedures.
Monitor patients as needed during procedures and assist with basic chairside assessments.
Perform basic administrative tasks related to patient charts and appointment management.
