Salary Range: $52.00 - $58.00 per hour. Placement depends on experience, internal equity, and collective bargaining agreement rules. Job Overview The Physical Therapist provides direct patient care, teaching, committee involvement, and process improvement within the department. Demonstrates essential skill competencies in evaluating patients and selecting appropriate treatment modalities, equipment, and protocols; performs re‑evaluations per department guidelines. Assumes complete responsibility over patient management from initial contact to discharge for functional progress and safety, evidenced by team feedback. Adheres to department policy regarding evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries; documentation in EMR. Completes daily notes reflecting patient response, performance, and assessment status; meets documentation requirements for reimbursement. Provides educational materials and methods suited to patient understanding and motivation, evidenced by chart review and team feedback. Participates in committees, departmental processes, and special projects per clinical expertise and performance plan. Develops and maintains professional relationships with healthcare team members; participates in internal and external marketing per expectations. Creates a culture of respectful communication through listening, soliciting input, open conversation, approachability, and timely acknowledgment of contributions. Accepts constructive feedback and makes timely changes, evidenced by coaching forms and team feedback. Proactively completes non‑patient duties (coverage notes, PTO/schedule change requests, bonus pay forms). Contributes to departmental educational efforts (in‑services, journal clubs, new hire orientation, PI) per expectations. Acts as a clinical instructor, mentor, or observation host in student clinical or observation programs as expected. Maintains productivity standards per departmental expectations. Demonstrates willingness to flex schedule or assignment to meet patient care needs and meet department meetings outside normal hours. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Illinois. BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire. Preferred: Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy.
