LPN - Advanced Medical and Neuro (Nights) Jefferson

Job Title

This job is a member of the direct care healthcare team and is responsible for providing care to patients and families under the direction of the registered nurse.

Essential Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care within the LPN scope of practice.
• Assists with the preparation of equipment and assists the clinical provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
• Collects assessment data, prepares patient for examination and documents clinical information on patient record and reports any changes in patients condition to the registered nurse, advanced practice nurse or physician.
• Orders diagnostic tests as directed by the clinical provider and gathers diagnostic tests and/or examines results prior to physician/clinical provider assessment.
• Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations, as necessary, under the direction/oversite of the registered nurse. Assists nursing and medical staff with basic medical tasks such as administering medications, blood and tissue collection and/or other laboratory specimens; prepare patients for testing.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Required

• High School/GED
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
• CPR American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

• 1 year in healthcare
• PALS or ACLS
• State approved IV course certification.
• Knowledge of EPIC documentation and assessment process
