Special Procedure Tech II

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Special Procedure Tech II for our CVIR department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Special Procedure Tech II you will:

• Collaborate with peers, physicians, and support staff to deliver quality patient care as well as customer service
• Demonstrate initiative toward safety and risk management issues
• Be proficient in assisting Interventional Physicians in all CVIR procedures utilizing various interventional tools
• Have working knowledge of contrast administration/contraindications, as well as plan for adverse reactions
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Contribute to the time management of the department by being punctual to work and on assignments according to hospital standards
• Maintain schedule with flexibility to accommodate all customers with efficiency while providing on-call services during off hours
• Participate in new product evaluations and be willing to learn new procedures with a willingness to share knowledge with peers
• Set up and maintain sterile field/sterile technique
• Follow hospital policy and protocol to maintain a safe environment
• Follow radiation safety as established by RSO
• Be proficient in operating X-Ray, Interventional equipment and other procedural tools
• Communicate effectively with patients, family, other staff, and physician
• Maintain a flexible attitude and schedule to accommodate emergency cases
• Ability to perform in a multi-task environment with strong clinical judgment/critical thinking

Qualifications include:

• High school diploma or GED
• Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT accredited school of radiography OR completion of an accredited cardiovascular program
• 2 years of diagnostic imaging
• Current ARRT certification or RCIS certification
• Current Maryland Board of Physicians licensed radiographer or registered cardiovascular invasive specialist (RCIS) certification
• ACLS certification
• Active American Heart Association basic life support (BLS) certification required

Pay Range:

$37.17 - $55.76
