As a Security Officer – Surveillance, you will be the person spotting threats before they escape in environments such as security operations centers, call centers, parking gatehouses, etc. Site Location and Type: Washington DC/ High-Traffic, Mixed-Use Commercial Buildings & Public Transit Hub Scheduling will be based on site needs. Scheduling will vary so the ideal new hire should have open flexibility to take any schedule. Weekends are required. Must complete 16 hours of OJT. Full time hours are not guaranteed. The ideal candidate will seamlessly transition between high‑volume visitor engagement (providing directions and information), event crowd control, and proactive building patrols across multiple floors, while maintaining a calm and authoritative presence during diverse public encounters. A comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching contributions, paid time off (PTO) policy, paid holidays, disability coverage, and life insurance options (depending on how many hours worked and per contract) Career growth opportunities at GardaWorld Uniform provided at no cost Responsibilities of Surveillance Security Guard Patrol sensitive areas to spot any suspicious activity Verify identities and control access to secure areas React quickly to threats or incidents Check the proper functioning of alarms and cameras Document incidents and actions taken Respond to alarms and conduct on‑site checks Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property Qualifications of Surveillance Security Guard You have a high school education or equivalent (GED) You’re able to ace (and pass) an extensive screening process You have Security, Military, and/or Law Enforcement experience of at least 2 years or more You have an active DC security license You are at least 21 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements Must have experience utilizing Microsoft applications or Google applications, and Security Systems.
