Millwright

Position Summary

The Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and dismantling industrial machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, conveyor systems, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other mechanical equipment while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Install, assemble, align, and commission industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repair methods.
Repair or replace bearings, gears, shafts, belts, seals, motors, pumps, and other mechanical components.
Align machinery using laser alignment systems, dial indicators, and other precision measuring tools.
Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Dismantle and rebuild machinery as required.
Perform rigging activities using cranes, hoists, slings, and lifting equipment.
Lubricate equipment and maintain proper lubrication schedules.
Perform basic welding, cutting, and fabrication as needed.
Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and potential failures.
Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA regulations, and all company safety policies.
Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to minimize downtime.
Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and plant improvement projects.
Participate in emergency repairs and scheduled shutdowns as required.

Maintain maximum equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Complete preventive maintenance assignments on schedule.
Minimize equipment downtime through effective troubleshooting and repairs.
Ensure machinery is installed and aligned according to manufacturer specifications.
Perform repairs that meet quality and safety standards.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and work order documentation.
Promote a safe work environment with zero preventable safety incidents.
Support production goals through timely maintenance services.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
Work collaboratively to achieve department objectives.
