The chosen candidate supports the function of the school district in the pursuit of attaining district goals and student achievement results. Desired candidate would teach some sections of Social Studies and some sections of English. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Duties & Responsibilities: Assist with the implementation of quality programming for students. Maintain all assigned courses to high standards, adjust lessons and assessments as necessary. Adept at using differentiated instructional techniques addressing the needs of all student learners. Ability to meet the instructional needs of students by providing targeted support strategies across all content areas. Attend student meetings to ensure best practices and high quality of education programming under the guidance of the building principals. Collaborate effectively with department and cohort peers to ensure academic goals are appropriate and instructional strategies are effective to reach identified student outcomes. Attend workshops and conferences on best practices in core subject areas. Any other responsibilities deemed necessary related to programming by building and district administration. Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university required. ValidPA Certification: English 7-12 required. Master's Degree in Education or a related field of study desired. 2+ years of experience teaching in education environments desired. Physical Requirements: Work schedule hours on a consistent basis Indoor office environment is subject to frequent interruptions Pushing, moving and lifting objects with a strength factor of light work Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of standard office equipment Clarity of vision at varying distances Verbal, auditory and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner Sitting and standing for extended periods of time Frequent sitting, standing and walking Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally to retrieve and store files and supplies Occasional kneeling, crouching and squatting Occasional bending, reaching and stretching Occasional pulling, pushing Level of Compensation: $54,000-$104,000(dependent on Step and Track placement as determined based on collective bargaining agreements) Disclaimer: The preceding list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.
