Senior Fraud Data Scientist

Salary: $116,250 - 155,000 per year Requirements:

• We require at least 5 years of experience in fraud strategy, program leadership, or a closely related risk management function.
• We need advanced analytical capability, with strong proficiency in SQL, Python, Looker, and similar data analysis or visualization tools.
• We expect hands-on experience with fraud detection and monitoring platforms, including the ability to interpret data and spot emerging fraud patterns.
• We look for excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• We require a strong record of partnering effectively across product, engineering, operations, and compliance teams to achieve common objectives.
• We value sound judgment in ambiguous or fast-changing environments, supported by data-driven decision-making.
• We need proven ability to lead and deliver initiatives across multiple teams while balancing priorities and producing results.
• We expect strong critical thinking and composure under pressure when resolving complex issues.
• We prefer deep expertise in identifying and reducing fraud risks such as account takeover, synthetic identity, distributed attacks, payment fraud, and collusion.
• We prefer experience preventing fraud in digital channels and card-not-present environments.
• We prefer in-depth knowledge of ACH risk, including reversal flows and related exposure.
• We value experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments, ideally within fintech or other technology-led industries.
• We prefer familiarity with scam, phishing, and social engineering threats, along with mitigation strategies.
• We prefer knowledge of dispute representment requirements and industry best practices.
• We prefer experience in financial markets, banking, or digital asset exchanges.

• We design and lead end-to-end fraud prevention and detection programs, including procedures, rules, and controls.
• We perform advanced analysis on large structured and unstructured datasets to uncover fraud trends, patterns, and emerging risks.
• We continuously monitor system performance, track key risk indicators, and improve fraud controls to increase accuracy and reduce false positives.
• We partner with data science, risk operations, product, engineering, and customer support to embed fraud prevention into products and services.
• We oversee projects that improve fraud detection capabilities and streamline operational workflows.
• We prepare and present clear, actionable reporting and insights for leadership and stakeholders on fraud exposure and control effectiveness.
