Basic Functions:

This is for a Day Shift and Graveyard Shift

Responsible for supporting safe, proper shuttle operations through scheduling, employee communication, dispatching, and shift management.

 

Responsibilities would include:

Cover open shifts on short notice when necessary, working knowledge of basic office equipment, such as phone, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products - Word and Excel, responsible for being at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform. Courteously assist customers and employees alike by answering any questions they may have. If necessary, direct the customer to the Facility/Operations Manager for further assistance. Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Facility/Operations Manager. Facilitate monthly driver meetings, company training requirements, and changes to daily operating procedures as necessary. Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of field operations, thorough knowledge of all SFO Airport terminals and the major streets, landmarks and freeways in area. Assist Facility/Operations Managers with other duties as needed.

 

Qualifications:

Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• This position includes a title of Supervisor with added responsibility of supervision and direction of cashiers and drivers

• Coordinate driver activities and shuttle assignments to resolve service issues and minimize overtime, downtime, and shuttle backups. Complete attendance trackers and verify that drivers are following company policy with driving routes of all airport terminals properly.

• Ensure that customers’ needs are being met in a prompt and professional manner and escalate issues (late dispatch, breakdown, other service failures) to managers. Reassign routes as needed to solve service issues , and ensure that drivers are logging in and communicating their location to dispatcher at all times.

• Visually inspect each driver’s appearance to verify that drivers are in proper uniform.

• Notify the manager / supervisor in charge in the event of a vehicle accident or driver injury.

• Other duties as assigned by manager.

Education Required: High School Degree or equivalent.

Experience/Knowledge: Prior knowledge or experience with shuttle driving, dispatched transportation operations, scheduling.

Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on needs working swing or graveyard.

License Requirement: The individual will be required to have and maintain a valid CA-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record with a class b passenger endorsement.

Language Skills: Ability to read, comprehend, write, speak and communicate all aspects of job-related information in English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers and other employees of the company.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract. Ability to understand and adhere to Hours of Service regulations, including frequent calculations involving quarter hours.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to change frequently between a sitting and standing position, help customers with any and all luggage as needed to service the customer. Driving when customers are backed up and delayed times with shuttles to keep the consistency for the company's policy of running shuttles every 5-7 minutes to and from airport. Also, the employee is required to use a phone or two-way radio.
