Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in telemetry nursing, specifically with stroke certification and experience in caring for stroke patients.

Job Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a tele, step-down, or PCU setting
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, with a requirement for 2 weekends every 4 weeks and holidays as needed

Client Information

This position is located within a Level II facility, featuring a 34-bed telemetry unit. The unit is equipped to handle high acuity cases, emphasizing stroke care and other cardiac conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for patients on the telemetry unit, including reading and interpreting telemetry strips.
• Monitor vital signs and patient status, with a focus on high acuity patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including non-titratable drips and titrating heparin.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient care activities and documentation using Cerner EMR.
• May function without a nurse aide present; primary nursing duties will be required.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Must have telemetry experience, with a focus on high acuity care.
• Stroke certification is mandatory.
• Ability to respond promptly to standby situations, with a response time of 30 minutes.
• Willingness to float to other Telemetry floors as needed.
