If selected, the recruiter will provide eligibility criteria for the sign-on bonus. Banner Thunderbird is a desirable facility with a diverse patient population ranging from neonatal to geriatric. With inpatient behavioral health units for adults and pediatrics and a Level 1 Trauma Center, the environment is acute and variable. The large hospital offers the opportunity to cover multiple areas. A new tower will open in 2026, adding Med/surg beds, Women and Infant Services beds, and additional NICU beds. Position Summary Full‑time: 4x10s or 5x8s, start time 6:30‑8:00 AM, 12‑month commitment. Provides leadership in the specialty area of clinical nutrition, establishes practice standards, mentors colleagues, manages a complex caseload, develops nutrition care plans, and monitors outcomes. Offers patient and family counseling and education, develops standards of practice, and serves as an interdisciplinary team member. Core Functions Provides comprehensive nutrition assessment of patients, including nutrition‑focused physical exams, and analyzes data based on evidence‑based standards. Maintains competency in enteral and parenteral clinical practice protocols and oral nutrition management. Writes orders to initiate and manage nutrition care, including parenteral and enteral nutrition. Evaluates care plan effectiveness and communicates results to the healthcare team, documenting in medical records, patient plans, and clinical pathways. Provides nutrition education to patients, families, staff, and other professionals through teaching materials and in‑service programs. Leads in establishing patient care procedures, acts as liaison with nursing, monitors policies, and mentors new staff and interns. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and coordinates projects and programs in clinical nutrition. Develops training and educational materials to aid colleagues and mentors staff in the specialty area. Interacts with patients, families, providers, and nutrition staff to deliver high‑quality nutrition assessment, planning, and outcome measurement; may provide community education. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or equivalent coursework. Registered Dietitian status per the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; must hold current registration and maintain ongoing licensure. At least three to five years of clinical experience in a specialty area, functioning independently and prioritizing assigned patient caseload. For Senior Registered Dietitian: ≥50 % of caseload in specialty area and documented certification in one of the following: International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Certified Clinical Transplant Dietician, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, CNSC‑Certified Nutrition Support Clinician, Pediatric Nutrition, Renal Nutrition, Oncology Nutrition, Gerontology Nutrition, Sports Dietetics, Digestive Health, Pediatric Critical Care, Obesity and Weight Management, or other listed certifications.
