Brief Position Overview Welcome to the Montana State University College of Agriculture! Our blend of learning, discovery and outreach programs reflect our university’s Land Grant designation. Through a federal/state partnership with the Montana Agricultural Experiment Station (MAES) and Extension Service, we strive for excellence in academics, research, and engagement. Duties and Responsibilities Make solutions and perform shared lab duties such as: Autoclaving Cleaning Waste removal Read scientific literature and participate in lab group meetings. Collaborate with a part‑time undergraduate on a shared project. Design and interpret experiments studying the development and regeneration of Drosophila intestine. Perform molecular biology and confocal microscopy assays. Take careful notes, record results, and prepare figures for publication. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in biology. Prior experience in confocal microscopy. Prior experience in making solutions and performing standard molecular biology techniques. At least 1 year of experience doing full‑time lab work. Must be able to independently plan daily tasks. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Drosophila husbandry and genetic crosses. Interest or experience working on developmental biology. Familiar with intestine anatomy, development, and regeneration. Compensation Salary commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
