Shipping Receiving SupervisorThe Shipping Receiving Supervisor is responsible for supervising the scheduling and coordination of trucks and drivers according to customer requests and in compliance with DOT regulations and company rules. Control departmental expenses and generate solutions to issues as and before they arise. Notifies drivers of assignments; reviews and verifies the accuracy of driver's logs and database.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages and schedules all outbound and inbound loads and coordinates with sales and productionCoordinates proper loading and shipping orders with S/R personnelSets up all loads to be shipped by common carrier with outside freight companiesMakes sure the inbound product is stored properlyDetermines mode of transportation and selects the appropriate carrierNegotiates rates for transportation servicesCoordinates routing of orders and dispatches carrier with orders and appropriate delivery instructions consistent with the customer receiving timesEnsures all internal/external paperwork meets all Universal as well as DOT regulations and proceduresEstablishes delivery / receiving appointments and loading times for each carrierManages internal UFP equipment and driversAnswers questions and resolves supplier and customer problems regarding transportation issuesDocuments any shortage on orders, investigate reasons for occurrence, and informs carrier of shortage to get compensation or to resolve an issue with the customer with assistance of salesAudits and approves freight bills for paymentFiles claims for any loss or damage on inventory and notifies plant managementTakes and acts upon all calls for tracing and/or expediting ordersPrepares various reports and correspondence as requiredManages data on the data systemPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsPreferred bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalentMinimum of two years of experience as a Production Manager or equivalentWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and OutlookPreferred experience and knowledge of UFP's organization, culture, and product linesSkills and abilitiesThe Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
