Parts Counter / Future Parts Manager
Position SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and organized Parts Counter Professional with the potential to grow into a Parts Manager role. This position is responsible for assisting customers and technicians with parts needs, maintaining inventory accuracy, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced diesel environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to develop leadership skills for future advancement opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities- Assist customers and service technicians with locating and ordering parts
- Process parts sales, invoices, returns, and warranty claims
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and stock organization
- Receive, label, and stock incoming parts shipments
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding orders and availability
- Ensure parts department cleanliness and organization
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory control procedures
- Provide outstanding customer service both in person and over the phone
- Assist with training and mentoring team members as responsibilities grow
- Support daily operations and eventually help oversee department performance and profitability
- Previous automotive, diesel, or heavy-duty truck parts experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic computer and inventory system knowledge
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Leadership potential and willingness to grow into management responsibilities
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Knowledge of diesel truck parts and components
- Experience with parts lookup systems and inventory software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Sales and upselling experience is a plus
