Setting: Acute Care, Psychiatric Unit (Trauma Level 2 facility)

Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN for a locked inpatient unit serving both adolescent and adult populations — the only child/adolescent inpatient psych unit in the region. The unit has 25 licensed beds (currently utilizing 3 adult and 6 adolescent beds), with nurse-to-patient ratios of 3:1 for adults (up to 7 patients) and 6:1 for adolescents. Common diagnoses include depression, anxiety, substance abuse, psychosis, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other behavioral/personality disorders. Nurses are expected to be hands-on — assisting with 15-minute rounds and staying actively involved in patient care rather than primarily working from the nurses' station.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience, ideally acute/inpatient or state hospital psychiatric experience
• BLS Certification (required)
