Job Title Conservation Planner Duties Applies principles such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agriculture when working with farmers, ranchers, and other landowners to develop conservation plans. Evaluate the effects of plan alternatives on soil, water, animal, plant, air, and energy resources; provides information concerning Farm Bill Programs. Provide guidance and leadership in a working team environment to develop and implement ways to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of the products and/or services provided to internal and external customers. Conducts regular follow-up on all scheduled practices assigned; Performs annual contract reviews on all assigned contracts to ensure contract schedules are followed and that practices are being maintained according to NRCS standards. Promotes and maintains partnerships with Federal, state, and local agencies and groups to carry out conservation management activities. Must have obtain Conservation Planning Certification in accordance with the guidelines in General Manual 180 Part 409.3. State specific supplement requirements, if issued, will apply.
