Key responsibilities include:
• Prepares exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct Sonography examinations in accordance with relevant protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Uses proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques.
• Applies independent, professional, ethical judgment and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic Sonography procedures.
• Reviews examination images, synthesises examination results, and prepares the preliminary findings. Refers specific diagnostic treatment or prognosis questions to the appropriate Physician or healthcare professional.
• Operates and maintains Imaging support equipment (Probes, Trophon, etcetera) in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assists with the daily operation of the Sonography Facility.
• Supports on-call and stand-by to patient care areas


Qualifications, skills, experience & registration requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in Medical Imaging or Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution.
• Registration / certification from an accredited program in Cardiac Sonography.
• Current American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent with Registration in one or more modalities.
• Current registration with the Bermuda Council For Allied Health Professions (CAHP)
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Registration (BCLS)


Level 1 (Bermudian only) RDMS or RDCS - Zero - two (0-2) years of post-graduate experience required with the applicable certification from an accredited institution. Minimum Certification in one or more of the following areas: Abdomen, OB /GYN, Adult Echo.


Level 2 RDMS or RDCS - Two (2) or more years of post-graduate experience required with the applicable certification from an accredited institution. Certification in one or more of the following areas: Abdomen, OB / GYN, Adult Echo.


Level 3 RDMS or RDCS OR RVT OR RMSKS. In addition to Level 1 or 2 certification, the Sonographer must have certification in the following areas: Vascular, Breast, Musculoskeletal, Paediatric Echo, Fetal Echo, Paediatric Sonography.


Schedule: 35 hrs. per week to include all shifts.


Salary grades: Level 1: BP25-27- $102,310.32 per annum - Level 2: BP28-30- $114,261.06 per annum - Level 3: BP30-32- $122,988.21 per annum.
