Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health provides skilled nursing care with a focus on psychiatric and acute care patients. This role involves administering medications including Long-Acting Injectables (LAI) and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), performing patient assessments, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care. The nurse will float within the facility as needed and must have at least 2 years of acute care and psychiatric experience. Strong communication and clinical skills are essential to support patient outcomes in a fast-paced behavioral health environment. Responsibilities:

• Administer LAI and MAT medications, including injections, following established protocols.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor psychiatric and medical conditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provide skilled nursing care to acute care and psychiatric patients.
• Float within the facility as required to meet patient and unit needs.
• Document patient care and clinical observations accurately using Cerner electronic charting system.
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license valid in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care and psychiatric nursing experience.
• BLS certification is required.
• Experience with injections and psychiatric medication administration.
• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced behavioral health setting.
• Must live within 75 miles of the facility.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Certification in Psychiatric Nursing.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification.

Special Considerations:

• Facility requires mandatory floating within the scope of practice.
• No Return to Office (RTO) days on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after holidays.
• Maximum of 5 RTO days allowed, with no more than 2 consecutive.
• Local candidates only; no pending licenses accepted.
• Free on-site parking available.

Scheduling:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM shifts (5 days a week, 8-hour shifts).
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
• No weekend or holiday shifts required.
