Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a teaching hospital requiring circulating experience across multiple surgical specialties and DaVinci Xi robotics proficiency.

Details

• Operating Room unit in an academic health center and teaching hospital setting
• 24 beds with an average census of 70-80
• Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00-19:30, including Saturday/Sunday plus one rotating weekday
• Call requirement of 40-60 hours within a 6 week schedule
• 100% floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Uses DaVinci Xi Surgical System
• Cerner charting system used

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start date
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of circulating experience in General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection surgeries within the last 3 years
• Charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• RN must have graduated from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Circulate for a wide range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, vascular, thoracic, urology, ENT, GYN, plastics, oral, and robotic procedures
• Experience with transplant surgeries (kidney, liver, pancreas) and VATS procedures a plus
• Perform duties within an academic health center providing complex cancer-related and high acuity care
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are accepted for this Surgical Services position at the in-state rate
• Former perm or PRN employees of the health system must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within the health system must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: 90 days for out-of-state residents and 180 days for in-state residents
