Position: Senior Tax Analyst

Locations: Lake Forest, IL | Milwaukee, WI | Atlanta, GA

Position Type: Full-Time | In-Person

Compensation

The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $130,000, based on qualifications, experience, and relevant skills. 

This position is also eligible for quarterly incentive bonus compensation, subject to applicable company policies and performance criteria.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a Senior Tax Analyst include:

\n
• Review complex individual and trust income tax returns
\n
• Research and develop comprehensive tax strategies and solutions
\n
• Develop and review comprehensive tax projections, estimated tax calculations, and multiyear planning scenarios.
\n
• Identify and evaluate tax planning opportunities involving wealth transfers, charitable giving, estate planning, and business transactions.
\n
• Assist in resolving complex tax notices, inquiries, and issues involving taxing authorities.
\n
• Support advisors and analysts in income and estate tax planning, quarterly income tax projections, and compliance
\n
• Assist in educating team members regarding tax law developments and opportunities
\n
• Complete partner and S corporation shareholder basis reconstruction
\n
• Supervise a multitude of unique tax projects
\n
• Manage inquiries from both deferral and state tax authorities
\n
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to Tax Associates and Tax Analysts, as assigned.
\n
• Identify opportunities to improve tax workflows, internal controls, technology utilization, and service delivery.
\n
• Monitor changes in tax law and assess their implications for clients and the firm.
\n
• Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, professional judgment, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

\n
• CPA or Enrolled Agent designation
\n
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
\n
• 5+ years of public accounting experience preparing and/or reviewing individual and fiduciary income tax returns preferred
\n
• Knowledge of multistate, complex individual, trust, estate, gift, and partnership taxation
\n
• Experience with GoSystem, Bloomberg Law Tax Research, and K1X preferred
\n
