CNC application engineer

Salary: $105,000 - 135,000 per year Requirements:
- Over 5 years of experience in a machine shop with a focus on CNC Mills, Lathes, and/or Grinding
- Minimum of 5 years as a CNC Programmer is essential
- At least 5 years of experience with Siemens NX is mandatory
- Familiarity with FANUC and Okuma CNC controls is preferred
- Experience with Vericut software is a plus
- Proficient in various cutting tools for super alloys
- Competent in CAD/CAM software, word processing, and spreadsheets
- Analyze and interpret job drawings and specifications to coordinate setups and operations for manufacturing
- Determine optimal processes for machining operations and assign appropriate tooling for quality and cost-efficiency
- Create tooling paths using CAD/CAM software, ensuring proper selection of cutting tools for multi-axis operations
- Verify tool paths using Vericut Software
- Generate setup descriptions and tool lists for machinists
- Establish documentation standards for engineering changes and improvements
- Provide training programs and instructions on setup processes for machinists
- Engage with engineers, supervisors, and machinists to identify and resolve process-related issues to enhance quality and productivity
- Assist in the conceptualization and design of complex work-holding fixtures and gauges
- Collaborate with tooling vendors to assess and procure cutting tool technologies specific to high-temperature superalloys in the Gas Turbine Industry
- Develop prototypes and test new programming methods in cooperation with shop floor staff to gather feedback on improvements
- Support the Quality Department in identifying and rectifying programming anomalies that cause non-conformances
- Conduct time studies, job cost reviews, and maintain up-to-date documentation as required
