The Staff Attorney will handle assigned legal matters, communicate directly with clients, draft legal documents, and manage routine proceedings under North Carolina law. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned matters while maintaining high standards of professionalism and client service.

90 day contract to hire

Responsibilities • Handle routine probate and estate administration matters. • Prepare wills, powers of attorney, advance directives, and other estate planning documents. • Assist with guardianship proceedings and related court filings. • Handle routine aspects of partition actions and related civil litigation. • Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other legal documents. • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other relevant parties. • Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with North Carolina law and court procedures. • Manage deadlines, maintain organized files, and monitor case progress. • Provide responsive, professional, and compassionate client service. Qualifications • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. • Active North Carolina law license in good standing required. • Approximately one year of legal experience preferred; newly licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply. • Additional state bar admissions encouraged, particularly South Carolina. • Strong legal writing, research, communication, and organizational skills. • Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work independently. • Professional judgment, attention to detail, and a client-focused approach.
